A1 or M1 from London to Bedford Autodrome?

As above really... if you're coming from the east side of the M25 is it better to take the M1 or A1 up towards Bedford Autodrome at 3pm on a Friday?
As I understand it, either way, you follow the A6 through Bedford and out the other side then signs for Bedford Technology Park?
Almost 6 of one half a dozen of the other. I think at 3pm you should be OK. The M1 is probably easiest though. Depends where you are in London? As I understand it, either way, you follow the A6 through Bedford and out the other side then signs for Bedford Technology Park?

I'm in Chingford, close neighbour to Enfield. Anyone that even hints at the A406 doesn't live near here!!!
The new roadworks round the top of the m25 can snarl back to the M1. Anytime I'm heading north it's A1 or M11/A14 for me!
In fact,I might go A10 and cut across country for Bedford.

Hi Chris - going up to put the new toy through its paces?
From yours I would imagine the A1 would be better (would also potentially allow for a "scenic" route through Hitchin, Shefford, Sandy, should the mood take you).
If you try M1 be sure to go around Bedford town (not through it). Also it's not hard to get lost finding the entrance to the Autodrome. Entering the postcode into a satnav will take you astray. Instead, make your way to Thurleigh village and look out for the signs to Thurleigh Airfield Business Park, a short hop outside of Thurleigh itself.

I am indeed.
Still not had a proper chance to play with it on the road even, so it's a real voyage into the unknown. That said, I can already testify to the effectiveness of the LSD, the sublime balance and the slightly nervous aversion to any sort of broken tarmac... definitely more of a track machine.

I would go M1->J13, across to Bedford, North into the A6, this will take you round the northern bypass, through Thurleigh, turn right at the roundabout after Thurleigh and follow signs for the technology park.As I understand it, either way, you follow the A6 through Bedford and out the other side then signs for Bedford Technology Park?
