Hi,

Does anyone know where I can buy a FIA approved helmet in the frozen North - all the motorsport dealers seem to be down South.

Bike helmets all seem to have the wrong approvals?

I'm near Leeds and need to be able to try them on (strange shape head!!!)

Thanks in advance.

FIA approved? Demon Thieves in Wrexham will certainly be able to help you, but you need to know what you want to start with... FIA approved helmets are few and far between. Do you mean that youre looking for a helmet with a fireproof lining approved for National and International motorsport? Thatll probably be a BS6658 Type-A/Fr (BS6658 Type-A was the 'bike standard' until the EEC interfered recently, so talk of poor 'bike helmets' is misleading at best) or a Snell 2005 type. An FIA 8860-2004 approved helmet will cost you a damned sight more...
