Ring 3P insurance

Hi,

I know this has been discussed quite a bit recently, but I khave just been bought a present of some laps at the ring and with all this talk of people ending up with hefty bills for repairs and 3rd party damages. I'm not too bothered about my own car I can repair that but I don't want to end of with massive bills from a simple present. Is there anyone who offers 3rd party insurance to cover you for this as a one off for a single weekend day as I would rather pay a little extra and know I am covered rather than try and rely on loopholes. Could you contact a German insurance company or would they not cover foreign cars, are there any specialist companies?

Also what documents do you need to take with you to go on the ring?

Any help would be great.

in summary - you need to find a UK insurer who will cover you - where there are no specific (or even non-specific) exclusions. They are out there, but not easy to find. Check the policy booklets very carefully.
