I have a 330d saloon - love the car a very capable on the road.

However, i dont think it'd be suitable on the track really - too heavy and the auto box really seals its fate for me as far as tracking it goes.

just want to know if anyone has any experience of them on the track....i suppose it worked ok for the top gear 24hour race!

Vicky butler henderson used a 330d on a track on a programme once but it was the newer one and if it was auto - the paddle shift will be better.

Nevermind the fact it's a 330d; you have an auto - stick to town & driving in traffic - an auto on track won't deliver much in the way of driving enjoyment.

I agree that there are better track machines, however a 330D Auto will still deliver more thrills on the track than not driving on the track at all. You don't HAVE to have a GT3 or a stripped out special to enjoy a day at the circuit.

Change fluid, and check discs and pads. Auto will be heavy on the brakes.
