Why?

What's attending?

I've never been to a trackday where people have looked up or down on a persons car in an agressively negative way.

Keep you eyes on your mirrors, and there is no reason why a slower car might be out of place.

Its just the point that the over 3 hour drive there, the corsa will have nothing left to show its self around the track quick enough hehe Never mind beating a clio williams.

I wouldn't worry about beating a Clio Williams. Track days are (supposed to be) non-competitive.

I drove my old Corsa (1.4) 2.5hours to Cadwell Park - was well worth it in the end - learnt a fair bit about the car and track days in general before committing to hiring a BaT Caterham! smile

Don't worry about it, you'll have fun! My son Jamie is coming on the second day with his Corsa SXi which is a 1.2 TDi! He had that out at Oulton not long ago and was surprisingly brisk in it! Sure he got mullered on the long straights and up Clay Hill, but he was flat through Island at 95 - 100mph, quicker than quite a lot of other stuff; and as myself and a friend watched from the viewing area on the hillside over Knickerbrook he was visibly faster than a Locost, an MX5 and various other things, through Hislops, and was lapping quicker that a mate of his who was in a Mazda RX7!

Come and have some fun with us, an SXi will probably be pretty nippy around Teesside! And there is the kart race to finish the day off! smile

Yes jarnold88 is my son and I'm one of the people running these days - why that should need pointing out I don't know! rolleyes

its the driver not the car that matters. i wiped the flow with a mate of mine in an rx-7 and was quicker than an mg tf that was going round oulton. ive ony got a 1.3 sxi cdti....

Nope, try as I might I cannot think of a single reason why you'd mention your Dad's trackday on a busy public forum biggrin

Will try to get booked on the September date.

Would love to do the August one, but it's looking doubtful at the minute.

Found out I'm available this weekend, having not seen the track would you say it was more suited to a standard E36 M3 or a stripped and coilovered 325i (i.e is it fast and flowing or tight and twisty?)

The looks of things the track has 6 major turns. But there are plenty of straights. Shame really.
