I would probably come if it was the National layout but missed one a while ago.

I agree it is quite technical but that's not to say it's not enjoyable. Particular bits I like are the chicane as you come off the banking and piff paff. Well worth booking an instructor slot to get some guidance on how to drive it (it will be the second time for me and have booked instruction again). There will be a group of us there from boxa.net (boxsters, 911s and some other stuff like a Sierra cossie) and a fair few TVRs (from the PH TVR board) that are combining the trackday with a wet grip session.

Indeed i am. I've driven on them in the wet quite a bit and agree when they have plenty of tread they are fine. My Proxies are a little on the low side tho, will see the day out but not by much.

Are you taking the GT2? Should go well round there.

Yeh, not to sure for some reason I keep thinking the infield with the cones reminds me of an airfield rather than a 'real' track, I'm sure it'll be different on the day and anyway it's a Saturday in the middle of August so.......woohoo

The infield is a proper track...the only parts with cones are at either end of the banking to direct you on and off it. I'm sure you and the GT2 will enjoy it.

Great day, thoroughly enjoyed it. Very nice track but was getting dome fuel starvation in turn 4 with anything under 1/3 of a tank. Time for baffles I think smile

I'll second it was a good day. Got myself an early instruction slot with Howard which paid real dividends for the rest of the day. There was a nice mix of stuff there and met the OP for the first time who looked like he was giving his GT2 a good work out thumbup

Thirded. Just seen this thread! Was there both days driving Jonny's R300 race car and SWMBO had a few instructor sessions across both days and made an amazing improvement. Spike is an excellent instructor! Great weather. There's something about Rockingham that no matter how many cars on track it feels like you have the place to yourself. Fab weekend!

Fourthed smile

I had a great day, first time at Rockingham and I really enjoyed the circuit. Also first time using BaT and again very impressed, well organised and the instruction was very good and well worth the money. Looking forward to visiting again.

I have hundreds of pictures and some video, let me know if you want any specific and I will see what I have. I might not be back on line until Wednesday though.
