I have 225/40/18 tyres fitted on my 8X18 wheels.

Now the question is will 235/640/18 slick tyres fit on these wheels?

These will be my first set of slicks, so a bit trial and error.

Any advice be greatly received.

Thanks

I think you would be best to get the spec for that tyre from the manufacturer/supplier and find out what size rim it needs.

I think it's common for slick tyres to be described in terms of the tread width whereas road tyres are typically measured at the widest point of the sidewall, hence slicks are typically about the same nominal size as the rim whereas road tyres typically are nominally wider than the rim. Sobased on that I would suspect that those slicks need a wider rim than you have. But I could be completely wrong, so I suggest you find out from the supplier / manufacturer to get a reliable answer. If you're new to slicks you should look for advice on tyre pressure and suspension geometry too because slicks often have characteristics that are completely different to road tyres and are sometimes quite fuzzy about pressure.

hi, you will be ok with those tyres, ive run those on my bmw 18x8j, had no problems. im running 24/64 18 michelins at the moment. if you need any more advice, go on the website, touring car spares-they will be able to answer any question re tyres/sizes etc.
