Hey Guys, I'm new here. Been a reader for a while though. Anyways i'm taking a year out before University this year, and I would think about heading over to the Nurburgring to possibly do to RSR Nurburg think with the Lotus'. I'm just wondering, whats the Nurburgring/Germany like in November? I'd hate to head over, and have the thing cancelled due to weather.

Also, has anyone done the RSR Nurburg thing? What'd you think of it? I know there's an article about it on the main PH site.

Thanks

SpeedyDave

As you get towards the end of the year the weather gets to be more of a lottery. That said for the past two years I've been out on a dry track on Jan 1st despite expecting it to be under a foot of snow.

Just do it :-)

My only pearl of wisdom would be , be super super careful on that track in the wet or damp, especially if its cold and you have no driven the track before, personally I would say make your first experience a dry hot day, the track is super super slippery with varying grip throughout a lap, not ideal learning weather / grip !!!

I wholeheartedly second the previous posters comments about cold/wet - my one crash at the NS (so far, fingers crossed, touch wood, etc.) was in a hailstorm on a cold day in March.

Re. the RSR Exiges, I've not done the new Exige day, but I have done the 75 Experience which can be thought of as the predecessor event, and is thoroughly recommended. The RSR guys are excellent and very good instructors.

Did a trackday last November - damp most of the day and exceedingly slippery. Problem is the grip varies tremendously at different points of the circuit due to shade / differences in tarmac and it is very easy to be caught out.

Certainly not recommended unless you really know what youre doing!

In November, one part of the track could be wet, one part dry, one part under snow...........

If we never enter the track, you'll get a refund. See you here?
