Blipping the throttle while still braking, no.
Off the brakes - blip - back on the brakes, yes.

Meh. If I start being worried about shaving off milliseconds then I'll worry (and go on a diet).

I have to otherwise I tend to lock the rear wheels on approach to junctions/rounderbouts, although I still do it in the GF's eurobox, just because once it is habit, it is hard to not.

I also blip on the bike, again, because I like facing forwards.

I heel and toe in my Porsche. I drive the Chimaera using the System of Car Control and the Vectra is an automatic!

Slowly getting better at it on track in the 911. Practice it on the road in the boxster which even though it's a tiptronic auto, it can still be done when in manual mode. Have managed it in a RAV4 on the road but need to turn my foot at right angles to reach the the throttle....and then still usually miss it laugh

It's not just about shaving time off, it's about having better control of the car.

Where's the 'occasionally on track when the next corner isn't too scary" option?

More people do it on the road than a track? Oh dear...

There will be people who don't do track days but like to drive as smoothly as possible. Whilst they could use the system of car control they might choose to Heel and Toe.

I can do either as the mood takes me.

Possibly because some people only drive on road and not on track (so the track option doesn't apply), I doubt anyone only drives on track and not on road.

Always do, very bad habit on my part. Started when I thought I was a racing driver when I passed my test and now do it in a normal car just to not forget when I'm driving on track or my BEC.

Get some strange effects when braking heavily and blipping the throtle on a diesel Hyundai i30 though (hire car for work). I find that left foot braking is difficult in most modern cars though as the computers assume that you're making a mistake and cut the power!

That's what I thought. But they shouldn't be posting in Track Days forum, or the question should only focus on track driving

Most of the time on track. Occasionally on the road in order to practise.

good point...I did answer yes to on the road, but it's pretty rare. I only do it to practise, not 'in anger'

57 members polled: 35 track, 31 road, 16 none. Well well, can't some folks decide...?

Yes, on the road and track, practised it for about an hour or so when learning, done it ever since, it just becomes second nature really, I've never had to think about doing it, you just do, all those people on about how they're better off spending the time learning better lines should probably realise that they could do both if they dragged their arses away from the TV for an hour...smile
