I have been looking around for reasonably priced trackdays for my first trackday around late november/early december (my birthday)

Looked up bedford autodrome on the 7th December for just £99 full day entry, open pitlane:-
http://www.easytrack.co.uk/events/allevents.asp

Firstly would bedford be a suitable 1st trackday experience?
I couldn't make out which track it was though, there so many different circuits.

Has anyone ever used easytrack.co.uk before?

Any alternatives or comments are welcome.

Thanks.

It's a good track, lots of run off, big and flat, you'll enjoy it.

Thanks for that, I was worried that there may not have been much run off.

Also, what about trackday insurance is it generally a good idea?
My car isnt a high value car, say £3000 and the excess is £900.

I've done a fair few TDs and IMHO Easytrack days are the best TDs in the UK.

Bedford is really good in my opinion, a lot easier to master than "proper tracks" like Silverstone .etc. I always feel more relaxed and can push harder there just knowing how open the circuit is and knowing there aren't many barriers or tyre walls close to the track to meet you when you go off.

£99 is a great price too and it is definitely the best track for a first track day. I would have thought it is the full blown GP circuit too. Also EasyTrack are great.

I personally do not bother with track day insurance. May be worth you getting it for your own peace of mind for the first track day but I have never bothered.

Bedford is an ideal place to have your first trackday. Lots of run off, smooth surface, every type of corner i.e fast, slow, medium speeds and long straights. Ive been a senior instructor there for seven years now and would recomend it to any first timer.

i might book this day too. Even if it`s wet the day will be very fun still. i was there last december and it rained all day but i had great fun knowing you really can`t hit anything.
Also get to feel how the car handles in the wet.

Have a good one

You can nearly hit the pitwall if you are going fast enough when you put a wheel or two on a wet white line and then on the grass..............................
