Numpty question i'm afraid chaps because i've never actually used my DB meter before, it has high and low settings, which do i use to get a reading comparable to what a TDO would get, and also twin exhuasts, measured in the middle right, 0.5M and 45 degrees?

Sorry to be a pedant but that would only be possible if your twin exhausts were exactly 1m apart[/sad engineer mode]

Anyway yes they would just hold the tester 0.5 m behind the car in the middle at exhaust level. Sorry I can't help you with the other question though.

With the meter I use, it is slow (fast and slow rather than low and high I guess) for static tests. So I think on yours it will be low smile

I don't understand 'high and low' unless it's 0 - <90dB for low, and >90dB for high for example. Mine has ranges of +/- 10dB either side of nominal and 'fast' or 'slow' for damping, plus dB(A) and dB(C) - use dB(A). Depending where you live it's worth a trip to a local circuit or airfield when a track day is on to get an 'official' reading to compare with. In my experience it's the nut holding the meter that's the most important part of the system so prepare for different results with different meter operators.

Castle Combe check each exhaust, others may too?

0.707106701 metres apart, not 1 metre.

Most TD's I have done they check each exhaust seperately.
