...was so impressed with the gtr...
Would that be the Mclaren orange Ultima GTR?If so, it was my pal Simon, did he do the whole day in the end?, noise was a problem to begin with I believe

^^^ Did the car go well? It has a 740bhp LS7 Corvette engine in it and that was its maiden journey so to speak. Simon rang me this morning from the track and said he had some noise issues. He also mentioned that he very nearly spun the beast on the sighting lap
, how embarrassing would that have been!

It looked to be going really well down the pit straight with the corvette engine on song. The sighting lap spin would have been a bit embarrasing!

Now then guys no spin from me on the sighting lap!
Might of had a small 360 coming out of the Chicane towards the end of the first time out proper though!
After we sorted noise out with decibel inserts & rockwool....110db down to 96db....car ran real strong all day....couple of small shakedown issues easily fixed. Managed to get all the fuelling readings needed for new emissions friendly map so job done hopefully?! Decided to push car a little last time out as she felt pretty good on the brakes & in the corners despite no geo set-up....,suprised how good she felt & engine was really strong....plenty more to come that's for sure!!
All in all top day....great weather...good company....lots if track time for everyone....

He wouldn't be the first, we had a guy drop it at Druids on the sighting laps on the day we ran at Oulton last year
That may have been me. I managed to stick mt E34 on the grass at Druids on my sighting lap on my 1st trip to Oulton. Would have been about this time of year! Had an instructor in the car too!!!!!
(I've made a few changes to the car since then
)Sounds like to had a good day there yesterday Simon?

I had a great day too. First time ever to drive Snetterton and loved it. I was in the Red Radical SR4 (sharing the car with my dad). I got the last hour and was loving the clear track!
We weren't there but our experience at Snetterton is that the last hour can often be the best with lots of things having fallen by the wayside during the day! Last time, it was like our own track in the SR3!Edited by Willbee on Thursday 24th September 22:51
We did a 2 day session at Le Mans Bugatti earlier in the year. From memory there were only 18 cars there on the 2nd day, and by the afternoon perhaps half of that.
Hi Chaps,
I was also there in the White RX-7.
Had a great day, although at times it felt more like a test day rather than a trackday!
I was parked next to Simon's Ultima in the pits. It was nice to meet you Simon and you have a lovely looking and sounding car. I didn't appreciate that you were local to me, I live in Lt.
Cheers,
mf.

I was there running 2 Alfa 33's for customers.
1st car managed 5 laps before broken gearbox linkage (new driver, I think he was a bit ham fisted - he'll learn).
2nd ran all day before the guy span at Coram causing us (I was doing some tuition at that point) to spin all the way to Russell, broke the hub at the suspension leg and popped the tyre off the rear rim - apologies for ruining anyones session - it was right at the end of the day.
Cause for the spin? looking in his mirror halfway through Coram and driving straight off the circuit, lol.
He won't do that again.

I was there in the Lambo SL, had a great day. Was impressed with the RX7, pretty quick. The Orange Ultima was immaculate and the Ferrari CS sounded awesome. Was interested to see how the Nissan GTR would compare to the Lambo, so I hunted it down, was very fast for such a big car, but definitely Italy 1 Japan 0.
Your SL Lambo was very nice indeed! Agreed im always amazed how quick the Nissan GTRs are. Great mid-top end grunt. I only felt I had more accelaration coming out of the slow bends. Also, it was very well driven. Appreciated being let through so that I could start taking the cornering and braking again at full Radical pace.

I was there as Willbee's co-pilot.
Great Day: Sun beating down, good fast technical track.
Other than a bloke who apparently couldn't understand what "strictly no overtaking after the chequered flag" meant, I thought the driving standards were excellent, particularly given the wide range of machinery.
And humble apologies to you all for causing a momentary red, having lost my front bodywork running the kerbs too hard out of the Esses ........... Stupidly, I forgot to doublecheck the clips .......... just ground away a few rivets to the underside of the front splitter, otherwise no damage, so darn lucky. A big thank you to the two guys in the Mini that pulled over to help me put it back on. Cheers Guys!
Hope to see you all again soon!

It means you'll have all the time in the world up revett straight, take a book with you.
It'll be exciting through the esses then a little more relaxed through the bombhole then time to screw yourself up for Coram then relaxed through russell then get your book out again for the pit straight before throwing it into Riches but make sure you get Sear right or you'll need 2 books for revett

I think I might give it a go anyway. Birthday present for myself - not been on track since new lightweight wheels, better rubber and strut braces were added. New rear pads need "bedding" in too...It'll be exciting through the esses then a little more relaxed through the bombhole then time to screw yourself up for Coram then relaxed through russell then get your book out again for the pit straight before throwing it into Riches but make sure you get Sear right or you'll need 2 books for revett

Don't worry i wasnt telling you to not do it just be prepared to be a little bored on the long straights.
I've raced production Alfa's there in the past and with 150bhp we would rub mirrors just to make it a little exciting, lol.
Looks at gauges....looks at the one spectator.....looks at bridge - still a long way away...looks at gauges again.... etc.
