Looking to get a E30 / E36 track car (stripped & caged), but still road legal.

what do people to for insurance??
looking for 3rd party road insurance, cheap as possible as the car isn't going to be worth much, not track insurance, but imagine most common insurance companies 'have a fit' when you start mentioning roll cages, adjustable suspension etc

cheers

If you're just looking to insure it on the road you could try Adrian Flux or Footman James. Normally I'd recommend Hagerty for specilalist insurance, but they do seem to be a bit nervous about track mods.

We do have markets available for what you seem to be looking for.

If you want to send me your details when you are looking to get the car, I will get someone to call you and give you a quote.

We have about 5 insurers that offer track days built in with there policies.

We can't change the insurance company mid term though if you are with a different company.

If you let us know at renewal we can try and get you a quote with track days included.

There is a company who I know can do track days on a daily basis - I can e-mail you there details if you want.

Try Competition Car Insurance, they were the only company there would insure my car, when I got a roll-cage fitted , and best thing was that it was cheaper than my previous policy.

It's mostly the age thing with my car, it's 32 years old. (Even though virtually every moving part is less than 5 years old)

If you let the renewals team know when it comes up that you are interested in a price with track days as well, they will get you 2 quotes so you can see the difference.

I'm afraid we can't at present, we normally point clients in the direction of Competition Car Insurance or you can try this link as well.

Why not consider getting a trailer... i worked it out to be cheaper to get a trailer then it is to insure the car, petrol to get it there and back, and a what if it blows up sense of security

But then the car might not turn a wheel for 6 months over the winter and you could get all sorts of problems from stuff seizing up etc.

My 325i is with Flux, about £350 a year with all mods declared and european recovery.
