I'm looking for somewhere I can go simply to test my car out, not race. I'm trying to get to the bottom of a cornering issue I have. Not sure if it's my confidence that's shot after a very close call, or whether the car just doesn't go around left bends as well as it does rights. Had geo set up and the nitrons set up, but it still feels less planted on left-handers, at speed. Wanted a track somewhere where I can throw it around for half an hour or so, without the risk of hitting another car. Any suggestions greatly appreciatred.

what car is it? if its a particularly light weight car, as soon as you jump in the corner weighting will be thrown out massively.

when you say geo, did you have you (or an equivilent ballast) in place?

also, make sure your wishbones and bushes are all in the same condition and torqued up to the same value without any stiction.

If you don't mind the hike, Knockhill do sessions with you and an instructor for an hour at a time; there's maybe only half a dozen cars out at a time on these days (limited by the number of instructors available). This isn't 'driving miss daisy'; these guys will have you running as quick as your car [and you] can go. They do these sessions maybe once or twice a month and you do have to phone and book in advance.

Thank you chaps. The car is a TVR Sagaris. Geo done on ramp, bo ballast. Will have the wishbones and bushes checked out as you suggest. Unfortunately Knockhill hasn't got enough sharp lefthanders to make the jaunt up there worthwhile.

Could book a car limits day at North Weald and have the benefit of a second opinion.

What about somewhere like MIRA? My car engine/exhaust was recorded for a computer game there and I remember the sound guy saying it wasn't that expensive. They have a road course as well as the high speed oval. There was a few touring car testing when I was there.

I did the car limits day at North Weald last week. If its left handers your worried about, the high speed bend should sort you out wink

They only let 1 car at a time go, and most were taking the 90 degree bend at 70 - 80mph with atleast a few spins per car once you get to your limit.

Great fun and well worth it to get to grips with the limit of you and the car smile
