I have a single seat driving experience to use soon and can choose from a variety of circuits. Which of the following circuits would be interesting for a first timer? I live in Yorkshire but don't mind travelling. Was thinking about either Anglesey or Knockhill but would be interested to hear your views on the alternatives.

Anglesey, Knockhill, Pembrey, Thruxton, Three Sisters, Rockingham, Silverston, Goodwood, Chippenham.

Cheers

It’s a fair old trek from Yorkshire, so if you are considering Knockhill I would ask on the Scottish forum. Great little track but the cars don’t get highly rated.

I did a single seat (Formula Ford) experience at Three Sisters several years ago. I thought it was OK. It is a large karting track but "just" about big enough for 6 single seaters at a time. You all follow a pace car and overtaking is allowed under the blue flag. There are several places on the track where it is wide enough to do this easily.

While I was there there was also a Ferrari experience day, that looked rubbish. Cars looked quite large on the track, not enough straight to get up to speed and they looked as if their revs etc were limited. Felt a bit sorry for them as the single seats were more fun.

It was a birthday present off the now wife, I really enjoyed it and it was one of the reasons that I started to do track days. However, afeter being to Anglesey a few times (in my own car), that is much better.

Yep, I'd say Anglesey is probably the nicest circuit on that list but driving Silverstone is a good experience as it adds something to watching the GP when you know you have driven some of the same corners.

Thanks for the replies guys. I had heard good things about Anglesey as a circuit anyway so I think that's where I will be going.

If you do it at Silverstone it won't be on the GP Circuit! It'll be on the Stowe Circuit, the little track on the infield at the southern end of the full circuit...

Doh, you'd think they'd at least use one half of the circuit for it frown

If you do one of those Ferrari experience things you'll get on a bit of it. I think they use the Southern Circuit for that. They have a lot of track days on the full GP Circuit and a lot of test days on the National Circuit...

I've trackdayed on the National and GP and I work with some instructors who do experience days there on the Southern so I assumed that the single seaters would do the same course.
