Sorry I couldn't make it over today to say hello, I did end up getting the day off work... But unfortunately is was due to having a collosal headache.

Just had a look on the other thread, that bump on Cascades sounds a bit nasty. Did it stay dry for you guys up there today? Any vids/piccies? smile

I'll have to get out on an OpenTrack day, heard plenty of good things now.

Hi there,

As for my day on track, it came to a premature end at about 11am. The VW Golf GTi 16v we have decided after having a load of money spent on it yesterday (new lowered springs, Toyo Proxes T1-R all round, new steering wheel & boss, new rear caliper and pads) that it would through its oil pump
Bloody typical, I only did the sighting laps. My business partner did about 10 laps all told before we had to load it back on the trailer and he headed home.

At least when I got home there were a new set of coilovers waiting for me

Need to get back on track as the bug has definitely bitten.

Regards

Tim

Hi guys, im a new poster here but ive been lurking on for a while now.

But i was at Oulton today, only my second trackday. Im bound to have spoken to some of you today as i tried to get about and chat to people , so i figured id check in and see how you guys did .
I was in the Matt Black BMW e36, had a really good day and enjoyed myself a lot.
Apologies if i held anybody up at any point.

I was expecting a lot more sheds, but during a brief walk along the paddocks , seeing the Radicals, the GTR, the GT3s etc, i quickly realised i was in some special company.

Real shame to see the yellow GT3 in such a mess after the off.
Thankfully both he and the camera guy were ok , if he is on here, i hope he gets it sorted ok. Its never nice to see and certainly brings things home.

Anyway , just thought id introduce myself and thanks for making today a good enjoyable day .

Pete.

some greast cars out there and everyone behaved......if i slowed you down pete sorry ...

Sorry chaps; I can claim the breakdown redcard The bloody electrics went dead going down towards Cascades. Very strange sensation, going down Cascades with no power but all the tyre / gearbox / brake noise. Managed to coast it onto the alternative circuit link at the bottom and waited for a recovery. Main power fuse on the fuseboard had blown due to an electrical short.

Otherwise, it was a really good day. Top marks to Opentrack for the way they ran the day, (along with MSV). I'll definitely be using them again.

Hi Paul, yep i saw you, i spotted you a couple of times i think.
I love the 205s.

Thanks for the compliment Paul,
You seemed to be going well too mate , i dont remember you holding me up though

I thought the same about the driving , although i did notice the mood out on track felt a little stifled in places, for example i was under the impression if you overtake or when you are overtaken you put your hand up, just as a friendly gesture or to say thanks.
I didnt see much of that yesterday, i saw some, but other than that i loved every minute.

Great day though.

P.s im trying to find some galleries of the day , i did ask one of the camera guys walking around as i believe the price yesterday included "free track photography" . Other than the few in the thread here, i havent seen anything .
But one of the camera guys yesterday gave me a business card for the official photographer there apparently who "may put them on photobucket and email interested parties the links"
Just in case anybody wants to drop him an email.

Ive had no reply as yet, but here we go

I wish! So far changed the plugs, leads, coil pack, and MAP sensor, still misfiring intermittently! Going to change the injectors on Sunday, hopefully that'll cure it.

Was nice to meet you fella, cracking day, well organised. Shame about the GT3, looked a great example.
