I was just having a poke around the Camskill site looking for a couple of replacement front tyres for my track car, and I wondered if these would do the job for running in a normal road set-up / in case its a wet track day?

http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s4...

I intend to use 888's when the weathers good, but the two current front tyres need replacing anyway, so the idea of two sets seems more sensible!?

Anyone have any experience of these or have another relatively cheap tyre that will still hold its own if the need arises?

(Car currently has Continentals on, which are cracked and therefore shot).

Cheers

Could you lose a bit of the profile and go for these?

http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s9...

Had them on my Westfield before swapping to 888's in the spring,

they felt very good, but my car isnt really heavy enough to get loads of heat into them.

Now got a set on the front of the other halfs clio and they have lots of grip, plus they're cheap as chips.

Look good - but the 16" versions I need for mine are almost twice that price for the same tyre...

http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s4... - here

Im hoping not to have to use them very often but wanted an alternative to the 888's if things were very wet or very cold.

I made the mistake of buying the wrong size tyres already (and am now looking for a second set of rims in 15" to make use of these) - not sure how I did it, had loads of numbers and bits of paper lying around and obviously picked the wrong one at the vital (ordering) moment... Idiot!!!

Be interested to hear what you decide. I have the same dilemma...have Cup Pilot Sports on the car for the summer but just don't trust them for bad weather - as much for getting to the circuit as on it. I have an old set of wheels and want something for winter track days..I'm running 205/50/15 at the front and 225/50/15 at the rear so it limits my possibilities a bit

Any other thoughts and opinions would be welcome as I have my first track outing on 27 Feb!!
