Pembrey Circuit?
Discussion
Hi all,
Just wondered what folk thought about this? Is it fun/challenging/a waste of time?
This is now my 'local' circuit, seeing as I moved to Mid Wales recently (Goodwood was my very local circuit until now - miss it loads!)
There seem to be mainly bike TD's and only a few car. Is this because it is not suited to car TD's and is too small?
What's the story?
Thanks in advance,
C.

Great circuit even if the facilities are a little, lets say, rudimentary.
Some nice challenges like keeping it flat through the paddock entrance sequence (can't remember what it's called) and being brave into the Honda curve onto the pit straight.
Take some waterproofs though ;-)

We moved over to Wales last June, so we're used to the weather. The dogs have grown webbed feet. LOL.
Its a brilliant circuit, and rewards good quality driving over "getting away with it" driving. Thats why so many serious race teams go private testing at Pembrey to develop their cars.
Unfortunately its biggest problem is its location, I live in Bristol and its still a treck from there not to mention £5+ everytime you go over the bridge into Wales. The perminant M4 roadworks arent helping much either. It also suffers because they have to stop the track to let people in and out and people with "busy important lives" don't like that very much!

Agree with pretty much all of that, a small circuit with a 'big circuit feel' if that makes any sense. Always got good racing there when we were southern based.Unfortunately its biggest problem is its location, I live in Bristol and its still a treck from there not to mention £5+ everytime you go over the bridge into Wales. Also try Llandow, it's a small sprint circuit but if you have an MSA licence you can book a test day there for peanuts and pretty much guarantee to have the place you yourself. Several of us used to use it almost as our own personal test track, driving from Wilts and Hants to Wales and spending 2 days there for £200 (might be more now, this was 2002-2005ish). They also run a few trackdays there, again cheaply IIRC.
