due to work commitments, prices and dates looks like my first trackday is going to be cadwell, and not oulton park as id hoped (wanted to do both at some point but oulton first). my mate says cadell will be a bit of baptism of fire! i.e. small run off and plenty of concrete walls to hit! what do you reckon?

You could probably say that it will be a baptism of fire for your first one but, it is a great circuit and as good as Oulton Park, if not better. Yes there are some bits which have very limited run off but on all circuits there are places where you will bend it if you go off.

Enjoy it.

just take it very easy indeed and don't feel pressured by faster drivers- simply indicate right, ease off and let them past so you can get back to concentrating on your own game.

As above really, never done cadwell, it does look tricky in places,

oulton park is lovely to drive.

Its a fabulous circuit and one of my favorite's. I will be racing there in May. When is your track day? I might join you!!!!

I did my first at Oulton Park this time last year, was a good mixed lap with slow bits to jink around and lots of fast sweepers to get fiesty with. There was swathes of run off but again your going rather quick in places so it looses some relevance! Overall though a good track and well organised despite some of the dangerous antics by other drivers!

Oulton and Cadwell are pretty similar in character, not simple circuits but follow all the advice above and you'll be fine.
