Is anyone going to Cadwell tomorrow?

I'm thinking of nipping down (120mile each way) to take a few pics...

Metcheck says cold and miserable, and i don't wanna take a two hour trip to find it's been cancelled when i get there...

I was thinking of having a drive out to this too but the BBC are now saying heavy snow in the morning.

you should have seen Cadwell on Friday just gone...when we arrived at 7:15am you could not see the track for an inch of snow....credit to the circuit staff - they had it totally cleared by 11:45am and there was a dry racing line by 1pm...

WOW - fair play to MSV for getting that into a driveable state smile

Arrived at 7.45 to find a dusting of snow.

It then started to snow heavily and the day was called off at 10am

I didnt even take the car off the trailer but I had all the "seat of the pants driving" I could have wanted today.

I got stuck trying to make it out of the paddock and up onto the road when I left the circuit.

The main roads from the circuit were chaos!

I am just happy I got home in one piece and with the promise of a refund or trackday on a later date from Javelin.

Surprised that I'm back in Watford so soon! Took about an hour to get from the lower carpark up to the site entrance. I was sat in the long line of e30s inching our way out biggrin.

Hope everyone got home ok, one van and trailer ended up on its side not far from Cadwell.

Does the TDO still have to pay the circuit for the hire or do they have an agreement if the weather stops play? Isn't this the second cancellation at Cadwell due to snow recently too?

I'm off to Anglesey in two weeks so will be hoping for spring to get a bleedin' move on! laugh

MSV have not fulfilled contract to TDO so MSV are not paid for circuit hire.

Mmmm - not so sure on that one. Below is an extract from a 2010 circuit hire contract (not MSV):

Force Majeure:

"Where an event beyond the control of the parties, such as weather conditions, strike, riot, natural
catastrophe or act of government, renders organisation of the event impossible, this agreement shall
be cancelled by operation of law. In such a case, neither of the parties may claim any compensation from the other party whatsoever."

Most circuits give a partial credit (never a full credit) to organisers that do a lot of business with them. Some give nothing at all.

Well I can only tell it how it was described on the day.
I have recieved mu email from Javelin offering my refund/trackday.
I have to say- top marks to Javelin.

Hi

Firstly, Thank You for your understanding in what was a difficult situation yesterday. Hope you managed to get home safely.

Where do we go from here? As mentioned in the Briefing you have 2 options as listed below :-

A) We can credit your monies paid to an entry on “any” other Javelin Event (up to a value of £149). I.e. £99 paid for 21/02 covers £99 for entry to Elvington or £149 entry for Cadwell Park on March 14th , April 28th or Mallory Park on 11th April. Please view this additional value offer is a goodwill gesture and only applicable to entry fees and events in the next 6 months.

B) We can give you a full refund. Please allow up to 7 days for this after notification.

NB – Option B is only available for clients who booked direct with Javelin Trackdays. If you booked via an agent then you will need to contact them direct to arrange (this only applies to Option B).

I hope the above options are acceptable to you. I know they far exceed the weather guarantees boasted about by other companies. We just see them as a part of the Javelin Service.

Would you please reply ASAP via the link to let us know you have received this mail and which Option you wish to choose. E Mail

Kind Regards

Colin Jebson

Another fair and honourable decision by a good trackday organisation. Well done Javelin.
