Very smooth drive, would have looked almost slow if it wasn't for all the 4wd kit that he was strolling effortlessly past laugh

Could do to drop the camera position in the car to get a view further up the track.

I notice he stays in one gear all the way around the track except on the start finish straight were he changes up one gear then back down again for the first bend.

Is this 3rd gear?

At least he didn't end up in the wall like the orange GT3 he overtakes in that video!

I agree, the 4wd cars where bloody slow - most of them hugely modified and I was lapping past them all in a totally standard Impreza P1, and my brother on my tail in a red Evo 6 Tommi Makkinen. Proves that modifying means nothing if you don't know how to drive racing lines!!

I nearly had a very simular incident to the Porker. Overtaking a TM Evo (your brother maybe) he pulled hard right at the begining of the Pitwall apex flag. AS i move off the racing line to pass, i last front then rear wheel grip, (standing water!!) althought keeped it on the black stuff it was close. I'm sure if your bro he would have noiticed biggrinbiggrin

Does seam to be very quick in the conditions

I thought most trackdays didn't allow overtaking in the corners, was this not the case on this trackday?

I have been fortunate enough to have had a lot of tuition from Mike this last year, including at Spa. awesome guy who really is helpful, whatever level your driving is.

Fantastic driving in those wet conditions, just goes to show how good a well setup GT3 performs against those 4wd ricer sh_it boxes..

Looks like you took one of those overated GTRs with ease, as well!

if you'd put Mike in my 4wd ricer sh_it box and me in the GT3 biggrin the outcome would be exactly the same...................... Just Mike would lapping a GT3 and making me look VERY VERY slow in a fast car wink

The difference between Dry and wet on lap for a "Pro Driver" is probably 3-5% slower biggrin but for me an enthusiast probably 40-50% slower. Skill is everything and wet condition will soon show the cracks in your abilty. IMHO

Tony,

I remember your car having seen your profile photo, and I also remember my standard P1 and my bro's TME passing you. But then we have raced that track before which a LOT of the people on Monday hadn't - it was very obvious!

I also remember pushing the black GTR so hard two up in the TME that he almost lost it on clearways....only 1/2 an hour later to see him in the gravel on tat same corner!!

Who needs modifcations in the wet???

ha ha, now now, play nice. i think knowing the course was everything in the wet, i imagine in the dry the power might tell!

I meant "Tried to overtake" as you pulled right at apex for me to pass, just behind you I hit the standing water, my car fish tailed for 200yards and sort of lost momentem whilst changing my underwear biggrin there was only 1 TME? Thought you may have notice a spinning lighthouse in your mirrors biggrin LOL

Lawrence,

I certainly do remember the P1, driving very neatly to biggrin I had never done brands in the wet, Later in the afternoon, I followed you for a while to try learn and the lines, which did help me improve, so a big thankyou biggrinbiggrin

Tony

Ps,

My car is a standard Type 20 wink

Tony

I liked your Type 20, if it hadn't been pi**ing down the entire time and my feet been so cold and wet i'd have spent more time saying hello to people! Next time.

I liked the wet as I think in the dry so many people would have destroyed me on the straights even if their racing line was not good! I did manage to see under the bonnet of the modifed P1 with a ceramic coated turbo and downpipe which I imagine is a beast in the dry.

Great fun day, i love brands hatch and my prodrive big brakes were amazingly effective in the wet. Shame it understeers so much, my brother's Evo is so much more track focused and ultimately quicker - except the bends where I am better at the racing line!! ha
