No, not another thread about watching the track ahead etc.

I simply need some supportive words whilst I try and get my rear towing eye into my 944!!!

I got the car back from the bodyshop last week, so weathers picked up, time to go and finish sticking bits on and tidying scruffy bits etc.

The front eye has gone in with a little grease and some colourful language, but the rear one just will not take - what the hell can I do to 'persuade' it home?

Yours Annoyedly

The Anti-Mechanic (Im just a cr@p mechanic myself, not that I have anything against a good ol' grease monkey you understand!)

If the towing eye is susposed to screw in:

Find out what thread it is and buy a Tap to clean the threads up in the tow point.

This may sound like a stupid question, but are you sure it's a clockwise thread?

A valid point (you've probably read about my mechanical skills already then...) but thats one thing I did check, just to make sure!

I will speak to the mechanic and take the tow eye with me - see if I can borrow the appropriate jobby to stick in the hole and give it a fighting chance of grabbing a thread.

Cheers!
