well didnt take long for that bug to bite..

ended up buying this

can you guess what it is yet?

unfortunitly it came with all this useless bunff so itl be getting taken out and sold

original door mirrors i believe.

the wheels will also be getting binned from 17" wrecked from kerbing back to the standard 15s with some good rubber.

however took the car back via the netherly road and it performend brilliantly.

i know i had one a year ago but i forgot how much it needs to be revved to get the power out of it.

only problem was i cooked the brakes in the 10 miles of spirited driving on a road i know so they will require an upgrade

there are some bad parts the car looks better in the pics than it is. the other side has a big scratch that has been touched up and has some dents and dings but drives supurb.

Did you delibverately get the Noble in the photo? wink

That should be ok, a bit of fun and great as a first car to learn in and build up experience of track days. Personally though, I don't know why you didn't just find a standard one and save yourself all of the work of taking bits off and selling them?

Very underrated cars - a half price GTi-6 (minus one ratio). Nice choice.

looks good mate! me and my brother have just bought a saxo vts were turning into a track car, was a shame to have to strip it out as it was spotless for a 12yo car and probably one of the few saxos not turned into a chav wagon smile

58 kg stripped out from standard weight today, or 75 kg from current weight as subs and 6x9s are now gone, pics to follow.

so i started stripping out the car the other night.

to start with

first to go was this

seats out and gads what a mess underneath, crayons clips old crisps tie raps

of course where ever you go theres always lego!

even more rubbish under the seats.. i actually found 2 maggots ALIVE!

in times like this theres only 1 man who can help. if you can find him maybe you can hire

seats out that horrible brown sound deadening out and onto the interior trim

this pile would grow bigger by the end of the night

and now a bare rear end

i also took out the seatbelt

that was 58kg off standard weight and 75kg from the start weight, subs and speakers out.

still have the front to work on.

i wont be able to put the rear interior back in it was always a 1 way trip with this car. iv yet to decide how extreme to go with removing interior. the main question being whether to take out the dash.. i would like to keep the standard front speakers and cd player for a little creature comfort.

I would say keep the dash, it won;t save you much weight anyway.

Reson for keeping is most trackdays now want you to keep sharp edges covered. Removing the dash will reveal quite a few. Same as ring, you need dash in for that too really.

plus it does keep it tidier. You may just have to cut it a bit when you fit cage depnding on what one you go for.

That firt strip down is the fun bit, after that it becomes hard work....lol

well worth t though. I'm getting another track car in a couple of months. something for a grand will do me nicely.
