...will it pass the noise tests at Bedford Autodrome?
Anyone know for SURE (before I make an expensive mistake!).

Thanks

They seem to be a bit more stringent on the noise this year than last but the best thing to do is if you can pop down before the day and get the instructors to noise test you.

If it is the porsche tequipment exhaust you should get a little switch on the dash which switches it back to "normal" volume levels for exactly this reason. Double-check with a porsche centre before getting it fitted.

Be careful though - Bedford (as with most, if not all tracks) as trackside sound level monitoring as well as the test on the way in. This could be even more expensive, as you would have no chance of getting any cash back if you've been on the track.

...the exhaust was fitted some time ago!! And I opted NOT to have the cut-off switch fitted!! Oh well, that's me stuffed as far as Bedford goes, I suppose.

Good excuse to buy a stock 996TT methinks!!

I watched someone with a 996 and sports exhaust get tested at Goodwood. Even with the switch it failed the 98db limit. For interest they measured it without the switch in operation and - despite not sounding that load - it was way over 101db (Bedford's limit I believe).

So, not much chance I think

...thanks Ted. I might just stick to the North Circular, then. Lots of nice stretches where it's possible to build up a decent speed before the corners.

Do a loud day at Donington... more fun than Bedford as well.
