Just a quickie ref John B's really bad bit of advice in the 'ask the experts section' on public lapping @ 'ring.

"regarding overtaking there are no rules"

Please don't follow his overtake both sides in public sessions, its a public road, hence German road law applies & as the signs say all over the place in the car park 'Overtake on the LEFT only'

Right side overtakes are bad news, regulars won't be expecting it & can cause bad crashes & the cops can & do prosecute for it.

If you insist, might want my work number on speed dial to get your mangled wreck home & you might want to send your bill to evo, FAO John Barker smile

Also spotted that Alex, and thought it was strange coming from Mr Barker, who normally knows his onions...

The early copies 2009 of the Nurburgring Circuit Guide by Circuit Guides also had incorrect info re overtaking. I contacted them and they corrected it for future issues but I worry that people who the early editions are not aware of the mistake.

As others have said it is lairy enough without people overtaking on the right.

The correct person to have answered the question should have been Colin Hoad who is also on the panel as he is a 'Ringmeister.

Perhaps it was sub-edited/written by someone else?
