Odiham July 18th ....
Discussion
Hi all,
Am thinking of attending Odiham on the 18th for their track day ... this would be my first track day (apart from having done Car Control days at Prodrive) so I'm a little apprehensive ... but think I should just 'bite the bullet' and do it!
Anything good/bad to know about Odiham as a track day for a 'newbie'?
Thanks,
Ross.

I'm hopefully going to be there as well and did the track last year. As a newbie I'd say it's ideal as it is a massive track with lots of run off should you decide to take the scenic tour. The track itself is wide and there are plenty of opportunities for cars to overtake you (or vice versa) without causing anybody any issues.
The guys that run the track day run everything smoothly and with the 18th July event you'll experience something you don't normally get at other trackdays... a full on air display by a Chinook and of course a BBQ along with a few other things thrown in for good measure!

Thanks Scott ... am tempted to book it up
Didn't realise this one was in aid of charity, sounds like a good day out and not just track related.
Just need to make sure I'm ok with cash & the calender, and then figure out what I need for myself and the car to make it through a track day!

I did Odiham with the RMA back in Feb. It was a great day with a variety of exotica to liven things up. I'm also booked on the July event, which promises to be very good. I beleive that Lambo/Ferrari & Porsche UK will have cars there too.
The track itself is very wide and allows room for plenty of overtaking. As with all RMA days it's overtake where ever, so you need to have your wits about you, but for experienced trackday goers it makes it far more interesting.
Regards the run off, theres plenty of it, however in Feb a car managed to get so far on teh infield that it hit 2 oil barrells filled with concrete and narrowly missed hitting a tank and metal ammunition boxes filled with lead. Driver and passenger escaped unhurt but the car was a write off. So basically be mindful that if its wet and you go off on the infield, you could it something hard!
Overall though a great place to have some fast fun.
