In my opinion and experience nothing gets even remotely close to Palmersport. If you havent been this year yet... the new M3's are great.

I believe Andy Walsh at Car Limits will let you hire a variety of cars (Elise and Impreza spring to mind) for his driver training and experience days. It's not quite the same thing (North Weald isn't quite as glamorous as Silverstone!) but it's very good value for money.

The Full day seems to be quite pricey.. £800+.. Half Day's only £440 or something though. Have you been?

I used to think that seemed like a lot until I started tracking a GT3. Now knowing what the real world all in costs of proper track time in something worthwhile that weighs over a tonne really amounts to, I actually reckon it looks like pretty reasonable value. Quite tempted to book myself on some time for a bit of variety - plus it is by all accounts more fun than any other way of driving Bedford... rolleyes

Spot on!

its frightening what wear and tear really costs on big fast proper cars used properly!

do the full day and you come away thinking HOW do they actually do its so cheaply! the cars get a PROPER PROPER hiding all day!

I've heard very good things about the Palmersport days, they even do a little USB stick with your driving recorded on board for the M3, single seater & Palmer JAg.

VXR Track Days seem good value, probably more aimed at inexperienced track drivers though.

All of the information is on the BaT site, but the summary version would be that you would be talking about similar money to the Palmersport day, however with a BaT Caterham you can share it with a mate, split the costs and you will still each get more than enough track time each. Obviously that includes fuel too, and they will fill the cars in situ for you so you won't be running off to the pumps with the rest of the attendees.

Done as a 2 driver share, a BaT day in one of their cars has a huge smile/£ ratio. We once did a day with a bunch of mates where there were half a dozen of us in our own cars and the rest sharing half of the available rental fleet - it was epic.
