Half Day at PalmerSport, worth it?
Discussion
I've always heard people talk about how great PalmerSport is, but always thought it was very expensive. The Full day seems to very expensive, £800+ where as the half day seems fairly reasonable at just over £400. I want some sort of track experience, I was looking at the Caterham courses, they're around £450 for a full day.. But they're all sold out until September..
Has anyone done the half day at Palmersport, whats it like? What all do you miss out on by not doing the full day, does it feel short?

A friend of mine won a full day experience for this and said it was an amazing day!
Have you tried this website? I got the other half a caterham experience from here for Christmas but he hasn't booked it yet! You might be able to get on one a bit sooner!

both half and full day options are great. You will 100% not regret doing any of them....
out of the halfday options... I would choose the Formula day. Just because I LOVE the Jp1 and the Palmer Jag as I have driven them ALOT...
if you havent done alot of track driving you may find the GT half day more to you liking as the cars are a bit less 'intense' but still ALOT of fun! The new M3 is excellent.
but seriously.... you only live once! TREAT yourself!
the full day is fantastic value for money!!! you wont believe how hard you get to drive the cars and how well prepped they are and just how amazing the instructors are!
when you consider what a trackday in your own car REALLY costs... its amazing value at 800squid
Its only been 9 days since I did it last... gagging to get back already!

I spoke with someone at PS today, was just planning on finding out what dates are available but ended up talking to them for a good 10 minutes.
I think I'm going to head over and do a FULL day (as you said, you only live once.. We're here for a good time, not a long time etc etc) at the start of August.
Has anyone went over with another individual? I'd love to try and get my Dad to come over with me and do it too.. He's a driving instructor, so I'd love to see him out of his comfort zone.

I'd appreciate input from anyone who has the same dilemma; I'd like to do some driver training to improve my ability in particular focussing on limit handling/anticipating/reacting, so far I have considered the following;
<> Don Palmer Car Control day at Bruntingthorpe - looks good, read positive feedback from those that have done it. Downside - wear and tear on own car (rear tyres will need replacing soon anyway)
<>Palmersport day - expensive-ish (suppose it's reasonable taking into account you don't use your own car)
<> Driver Development (Warwick) - reasonably priced though not sure on how much driving time is involved
<> Andy Walsh Car Limits - looks very cheap and a variety of cars to drive, also does 1-2-1 driver training
The only training I have completed so far is the half day I did at the Porsche centre (Silverstone) which was excellent but went by very quickly!
Any feedback on experiences from others with the same dilemma would be appreciated...

of course mate. I've done it on my own... but its MUCH better the more of you.
I've taken 40 people a few times.
To the people that are still umming and arring over doing this day... DO IT! you wont regret it. I have taken LOADS of people over the years from real not got any driving ability or clue numpties to proper race drivers. They have ALL walked away LOVING it and wanting to do it all again as soon as possible.
