Hey all, I'm thinking of getting back into track days. A few years ago I ran a 306 Rallye and managed about 5 outings in the year I had. All of which had good manageable numbers on the track.

However the last couple i went on in the boxster were very very busy, where you seemed to spend most of time waiting to go back out. Is there a general consensus that certain operators tend to run less cars during the day?

Cheaper operators days are often v busy, not always tho, I've been on top notch days that had fair share of incidents & thus bunching & were busy.

You will mostly get what you pay for, if an organiser charges less per head he then has to book more cars in to cover the costs. Obviously there can be some cheaper days that don't fully book up which can be good value but you never find out until the day. The exception to this can be some club events that may be better controlled in terms of numbers whilst still keeping the price down as profit is not be such a priority.

The issue of numbers on track is a different one, this is generally set by the circuit. A good rule of thumb is that if the total number of cars is only about double the number allowed on track then you should get little or no queueing on an open pit day.

All so if you don't mind going early to mid week, Easytrack this Monday at Goodwood for example, just 30 cars, and a big discount if you book early.
