Nordschleife trackday - this is going to be epic!

Got to echo the positive comments, a great day. Driving standards were mostly good, traffic was really light (the ring could probably handle 200 cars and still feel quiet) and the organistation was good.
Really appreciated the free refreshments and general help from BAT staff. I'll put my hand up for your next ring date!
I've made a couple of videos from a slightly wonkily mounted spy-cam:
part one
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mQmqqiMWTc
part two
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AnhGpGYiM4
Not exactly fast or exciting watching but it does give you an idea of how quiet it was (and I chose that lap with more cars over another that was so quiet it was boring!)
Can I make a suggestion for your next day? (presuming BAT are reading!):
Would Nurburging gmbh allow you to do the track walk on the day before, after the touristday finishes at 7.30? Most people get there the day before, and it would give more time the next morning for sighting laps and open pit lane. The walks are great, really informative. I've done two now, but both times there was only time to stop at Aremberg and Karussel.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Sarah and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate BaT's 10th Anniversary - loads of friendly faces and excellent standard of driving all round. We're always interested in getting feedback. There were some fairly major delays first thing due to the Diner not opening at the agreed time which didn't help but I agree it would be very useful if we could get stuff done the night before - definitely something we'll look into if/when we go back to the 'ring.
Another issue I hadn't quite prepared myself for what quite how much passing traffic we'd get through the carpark. I'd worked out we'd have enough space for all the track cars, but hadn't accounted for the sheer volume of cars and bikes that pitch up to the 'ring every day of the week - regardless of whether or not it's actually open for Touristfahrten.

That was the only really frustrating part of the whole day, I came off on the final red flag with hot brakes (it stopped a bit early before I could cool down) and did 3 laps of the car park looking for a space!
I couldn't believe how many bikes turned up.
I don't suppose you're allowed to stop people coming in or block off spaces.
Anyway, big thumbs up.

Excellent day Jonny, which was further enhanced by the wonderful weather
I particularly enjoyed the trackwalk, which really showed that place in another light. I dont think you appreciate, for example, how steep the banking is on the Carousel until you are actually stood in it
Good suggestion to try and do it the evening before.....
Thanks again for one of, if not the best ever, tracks day I have ever been on. If you manage to secure another date next year, put myself and OJ down for it!!!!

ps Is that my GT3 on the mug????

Actually, we are (and did try). We'd got the place exclusively, which means we can stick a barrier at the roundabout until 5pm if we want (track opened for TF at 5:15pm). The problem was bikers flying straight past our marshal at the roundabout - cars are easier to stop than bikes!C2'S'man said:

Fraid not - the 2 GT3's are Barry Thompson and Pat Jennings - the photos on the mugs were of our top 30 customers (by event count) so you'll need to book a few more BaT days if you want to make the 20th Anniversary mug Glenn :-)Jonny
