Anyone here going to this then? I know it's a predominantly GTROC and MLR day, but I think there's other cars there too - not that there's anything wrong Skylines and Lancers etc.

I am hoping to go and watch, depending on other commitments.

Cheers.

I'll be there in a standard, except for remapped 302bhp Impreza P1.
By all means come and say Hi.

...Well I went and stayed for the morning session. I had a quick look for you guys in the paddock during the interval but could only find the Cerbera - and no Graham in close proximity unless you were hiding.

I have to say you all looked good on track, although Nielsen probably made the biggest impression as your Astra seemed very rapid with some quite enthusiastic driving! What power are you running?

Glyn, assuming your Mr2 was the AW11 blue one, from what I saw/remember you seemed very smooth through the Hall Bends although didnt seem to see much of you.

Lawrence and Graham, you both looked very quick/tidy/smooth with no 'episodes' while I was watching.

I tried to get a view pics with my cheapo point+shoot, the odd one came out ok.

I had a really enjoyable morning, I'm glad I wasnt out in my car holding people up. There may not have been much exotica, but some bloody quick cars out there. My first trip to Cadwell and hope future visits are something similar..

How did you lot find the track/day, and what car(s) stood out for you?

Cheers, Greg.

Pity we didn't find each other, I would have enjoyed giving you a few laps to show you what the old girl is capable of. Really enjoyed the day, Cadwell as always was great and generally good driving standards shown throughout the day. Some of those Time Attack cars were awesome would have liked to have been there on the Sunday to see them battling it out.

Next day is Rockingham on the 10th Aug, can't wait.

Thanks Gompo, i'd love to see any pics you have. I felt a touch out of my depth in my remap only car with those machines that were there.
The stand out was the red Tommi Mak that Dave (the owner) very kindly took me out in. That was crazy fast.
However, Bo Neilsen in his Astra was the car that pulled away from the 500bhp Mak in his 333bhp Astra. So after a brief chat, he made my day by taking me for the last spin of the day. Bo, thank you again - it was amazing. But you definitely need a new engine!!!

That was Bo's thinking, not mine. That Astra was unbelievably quick. The bottom back straight into the left hander uphill.....at 110mph? My heart was in my mouth. Nielsen is SOME driver!

Great day, Cadwell is an epic track and next time I need some spare wheels with slicks and a racing harness as i kept sliding out of my seat!

Yeah mine was the AW11. I spent the morning learning the track and getting rid of oversteer, but got some decent track time in the afternoon and started getting fully up to speed. It's an absolutely insane track and I can see why they call it the mini Nurburgring. I'll definitely be going again biggrin

I was watching Graham's Cerbera at the Mountain in the afternoon. Absolutely lovely car and you were driving it really, really well too!

This is unfortunately the best and only pic I kept of you, it has been cropped - I'll email the full (less good) pic if you want.

No pics of Glyn unfortunately - As said you didnt seem to go past much in the morning! I got a few of Graham but nothing special, and one of Nielsen.

While there were many cars I took a fancy too, I really liked the two 'Manhattan' 968s. I'll have a proper sort through my pics and post any I think are worthy later.

Cheers, Greg.

Thanks, by the afternoon I had worked out my brake points and lines so was able to really push on, the car handled so well, can't wait to go back and try again. Cadwell is a really great circuit.

Was it you who had a spin in front of me at Hall's bends? If it was I was impressed with your car prior to that, a very fast car.

I was there with my bro in our Caterham 7s. Mine was the black with the dayglow stripe, his the titanium silver one.

Really enjoyed Cadwell, it was our first time too. Such a manic lap but a real adrenaline rush. So much so, I felt a bit sick after each session!

7s feel like they were built for the place. And it was great to have good weather which meant we could run slicks for the whole day.

I was always cautious over the mountain, probably no bad thing in such a light car. There's still plenty of room for improvement all round the lap so I'd love to go back and have another crack at it. I reckon Coppice might be near flat in a seven on slicks which is quite an eye opener! Most of the day I was changing down to 4th unnecessarily. But keeping it flat in 5th or maybe having just a lift, what a phenomenal corner that would be. I was still using a dab of brakes.

I have lots of pics on CD. I'll post a few up when I get home tonight.

Anyone take any video?

Great to see the Cerb going well. It sounded great too. And the Black Beemer was flying. Not bad for a car 3 times heavier than ours! I saw you making some pretty big saves out there! Nice work.

Coppice is flat on slicks in a Seven, and you should be able to turn into Charlies easing slightly off the power!! After braking for "Barn", your next braking point should be for "Park" at the end of "Park Straight". I watched your line into Hall Bends, which looked good, not turning in too early & not allowing the car to become unbalanced in the dip on the left hand side, like 90% of drivers do!!!

ye gods.

If I went flat through the first part of 'charlies', i'd have never made the second, tighter apex. My car was definitely too quick to get the nose into there without a good dab of brakes. (I have an R500 evo motor) 'Park' seemed to be an earlier turn in than it looked and I was surprised at the front end grip into 'Mansfield'.

I doubt many cars feel better than a narrow body seven through hall bends. Manic and intense and a different sensation to any other track.

Big fan of Cadwell. If only it was nearer. It took me 4 hrs to get back that night, so it was a long day!
