hi, ive got a bmw 3 series e36 328coupe, thinking of selling it!! its a full track car on slicks etc. its a very good spec car etc, in (a1) excellent condition. never been raced but have done several track days and not once ever let me down. full cage, bucket seats with 2009 race belts, massive upgrade on front brakes, fully adjustable front and rear suspension list goes on and on etc, wont bore you anymore, but what do you think its worth roughly? spoke to a couple of people with track cars, they thaught around £10.5k. can be seen on you tube in action-type in gavin.1mpg. thanks.

I think £10.5K is way off the mark even if you had very high spec suspension, cage and brakes - these will all have a bearing on the price. Do you have more information?

mods to the car are to long to list to be honest. it will lap brands hatch in the low 56seconds

But that could just be your good driving rather than the car wink

Does it fit any particular race/championship category?

If it doesn't, it's worth less than a standard 328i of that age, as it's just a 'fun car'.

If you can't be bothered to list the spec then you're not going to get a good estimate on price. Hope you put a bit more effort into your for sale ad ( or is this it? wink )

Can't see many people paying much over £5k for a E36 328 track car of any description. Most will go for an M3 at that money - Lizard's track M3 was up for ~ 7K IIRC.

Might be better to sell the expensive bits (brakes?) and make it a cheaper track car that will appeal to more buyers.

sorry to hear your thinking of selling Gav!

From having seen it, id say that to the right person, its worth considerably more than a standard 328i of the same age. Plus, it really is the beans - maybe 5 or 6k id say - as you say, it is in A1 condition for a track car.

Its all down to the spec, a car with 3k brakes, 4k suspension, a 2k age, 1k seats & great spec elesewhere is rather diferent kettle of bananas to a cheaply done car.

I'm pretty clued up on M3 prices I've followed pretty most publicly & a few sold non publicly for sale for last couple of yrs, & even those prices vary massively for the same spec, but lots of dreamers ask huge money & they try & sell for a yr, mine sold in a under wk & my prevous car in a day, the right car at the right price wil fly out the door.

A 328 would be a new one on me tho, if its a great spec maybe, just maybe 5k, but unless its a really mega spec really I'd see it nearer 2.5- 3k.

There's a much bigger market for M3s (3.0 and 3.2) for racing use, hence the better prices they attract.

Outside of Class C (BMWRDC) there's not much call for 325/328 E36s, and people won't pay more than a few grand for a track day car with so few possibilities.

Sadly the estimates around £5k are on the button. It's a quick car, I know, but the price of M3s is so low that it pushes everything else down.

Nice one mate - there's another video on there:

Car's changed a lot since I saw it at Brands Hatch earlier in the year, was all black and the 18" M3 alloys were yellow - I was the young lad in the Purple M3, couldn't believe how well sorted this 328 was, lovely bit of kit.
