TrackDriver Magazine - Issue 2
Discussion
Guys n Gals,
Issue 2 is almost ready for press and will be available on a free subscription to active track day/competition drivers - just sign up at www.trackdriver.com if you haven't done so already.
Highlights include; A Mark Hales exclusive on the new Chevron GR8, John Hayman exclusively drives and dissects the BTCC VW Golf including what it really takes to go BTCC racing, Airfield track days, a classic a-series group test, the Jaguar XKR and Mazda MPS on track, we take a Lotus up the Goodwood Hill, a tech piece on fluid hoses and all the regulars, from Bernie Meldrew on noisy paddocks, a long standing marshall on "glory" marshalls, RMA's Graham Clarke writes, plus Our Cars, books, DVD reviews and more.
The difficult second album as someone said.
Word to the wise, those who sign up after deadline date will only receive issue 3 and on. Back issues will be available to buy for those that are missing out.
Sincerely,
Stacy
Thanks for the compliment. The guys do work very hard on it, so it's good to hear it's appreciated.
Indeed the Croft event was for TrackDriver. We had him down for two wins, but one wasn't so bad.
Yes, if you signed up after issue 1 you'll get issue 2 automatically. This is a chaser for the tardy amongst us who have yet to sign up at all.
If you know anyone who should be getting it please do forward this on - if nothing else since I end up doing the database for TD it saves me the dozens of emails after the cut off asking if they can have it retrospectively posted (the answer being no)..
All the best,
S.
Hi,
I need to clarify something I think.
You don't need to resubscribe each issue, you will automatically receive issues that go to press subsequent to the registration date for 12 months then you'll be reminded to resubscribe with fresh details.
Back issues will be available to purchase from a redeveloped website later this year.
We are free to market full stop now. There is no limit on registrations. As registrations climb so do ad rates to cover the print/postage increases.
Hope that explains.
S.
Hi Guys,
If you believe you've registered please can you email me with your details - I look after the database so can check fairly quickly.
Will say though that of the dozens of these I've looked at they were either; after issue 1 closed, or 2 failed validation (no full name, details to verify active participants, even one or two non existent addresses for reasons beyond me. Happy for you to be the first though!
We do have an electronic version which is being mailed out to international subscribers, and will make it available soon when we rework our website - we still need to verify the subscription. We are also looking at compiling to an iPad compatible format too. Bear with us.
Let me know,
Stacy

I registered weeks ago but have never received anything
Me three, never received anything and I signed up at the first instance.
Hopefully I`ll get issue 2

Right we've checked the other two and they had indeed subscribed after Issue 1, so will get Issue 2 as their first. If you think this doesn't apply to you, please drop me a line. Issue 1 went at the end of Jun.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s apparent there’s some ongoing confusion surrounding our free subscription, hopefully this will clarify things:
a) Issue one of TrackDriver magazine was the July/August edition which was published in late June (it is a bi-monthly publication).
b) Issue one was bulk mailed by a specialist mailing house in one hit (we don’t have a backroom sweatshop where many thousands of magazines are hand inserted into hand labelled envelopes and mailed independently on a daily basis) - as will all subsequent issues, too.
c) The mailing database for issue one was completed and closed in late June - see (b. The free subscription application facility on our website however remained open, as it does to this very day, enabling ongoing subscription applications for future issues - but not for back issues.
d) A successful application (all’s well with name, address, etc), entitles the applicant to a years free subscription from that date forward - for example: if you subscribed in late June, July and prior to August 26, you will receive issue two, the September/October edition, and thereafter subsequent issues for a year.
e) Twelve months from the date a successful application is made, an email will be sent to the subscriber requesting they update their details to qualify for another years free subscription. Ditto annually thereafter.
f) Issue two will be bulk mailed to all existing subscribers (those that received issue one) and additionally to all successful subscription applications made until we close the mailing database in late August. Those that miss the issue two subscription deadline will be entitled to issue three and subsequent issues for one year.
g) Those that didn’t sign up prior to an issues closing date, be it issue one in late June, or issue two in late August, will not receive either of those publications, they will however be available to purchase via our website in the near future.
Regards
John
