Rcokingham - any experiences?

anyone driven/ridden/raced rockingham national/international? How close is the armco to the top of the banking and would people feel comfortable on a bike there? I've heard a few stories about ripples in the track where the banking joins the infield - how bad are the bumps? Thanks in advance.

PS I would be doing this on a bike - not in a car, but any tales are welcome!

Only ever been in my car and must say its an unnerving experience when you get close to the concrete wall....they look very unforgiving!......as one guy in a honda nsx found out to his cost...ouch

I've raced and done track days at Rockingham but only on 4 wheels. IMO the concrete wall isn't really a problem and you don't even notice it after a while. I'd be more concerned about the transition to the infield which is definitely a bit bumpy-especially the second chicane-or hairpin depending on the circuit. Rest of it is pretty smooth with infield more technical than fast.

Drove Rockingham for the first time yesterday.

The concrete wall on the outside of the banking certainly wasn't scary: just remember it is you who decides how close to drive/ride to it.

There is certainly quite a pronounced bump dropping down off the banking onto the infield at the hairpin: not being a bike rider I'm not sure how bad this would be.

As Joolz has said, the facilities there are superb. I reckon you should at least try it just for the experience of driving/riding a banked circuit.

Thanks guys. I've just learnt that the bike circuit does not use the banking, but a few people have commented on the smoothness of the tarmac (i.e. glassy surface). Anyone had problems with this.

Surprised people are underwhelmed with Rockingham
In the dry I found the grip pretty reasonable. Very slippy in the wet though!!
