Anyone going to this? Will be the first time I've been back to Donington since they started digging it up. I know the final chicane has been moved forward and is a little quicker, are there any other changes to the circuit?

Also saw on the BTCC coverage that the Dunlop bridge has gone. Anyway it will be good to be back at Donington.

i think just tidied up otherwise, sme paint and a clean

just wa5ch out for the pit entry as with the faster Goddards it just means you hit the pit wall faster

I started doing Donington in 2008 and definitely remember the bridge and most likely the Spitfire. Now both not there, but otherwise hardly different. I wouldn't say chicane is faster either, just a bit earlier.

you may not say it , but it is faster (0.5-0.7s a lap) so start driving harder

Bit disappointing really - looks like they have a problem with water collecting in the braking area just before the chicane. By mid afternoon there was quite a deep puddle & I was leaving a car's width on the left when braking. The rest of the track would have been fine (although very wet) I think.

not quite where it was...

the 'puddle' was on the apex of the second part of the 'new' chicane, extended ~1/3 the way across the track (would have taken a pic of it but got moaned at for walking over to look).

from the look of it, what's happened in where they have laid the new track section is below the level of the gravel trap etc, and the waters just running though the gravel and onto the track.

Shame really, a little more thought would have picked up on this and dealt with it before laying the tarmac, I suspect they are now going to have to dig a channel though the new section of track now...

The good news is that the track is back though, and it's not been screwed up forever, I have not been there for a while, and it was great to re-familiarise myself with an old friend.

Here's a short vid from the morning.
