I want to try and do my last track day this year at one of these 2 circuits, but I can't decide which one confused

I've not done either yet and it will only be my 4th ever track day.

I was originally planning Donington but can't help thinking that Cadwell would be the more thrilling circuit, but in November will it be a bit too much of a handful?

What are you driving and how have you got on with trackdaying so far?

Hope not, that's my next track day too! 21st November, hope it's not snowing...

The day I'm going on is all similar cars so hopefully won't be too intimidating.

+1 for the what are you driving question! small and nimble go for cadwell, big and powerful go for donington.

But then again, telling your mates youve driven donington has a certain appeal - imo its only one down from silverstone in the 'UKs most famous tracks list'.

I've got a Saxo VTS, virtually standard and used on the road as well as track, so more nimble than powerful.

I've been getting on OK so far, no dramas to speak of. I've been building myself up gradually, learning the limits of the car and just brushing up on my ability. I've got another track day booked for 31st October at Snetterton and I reckon I'll be ready for a more meaty circuit after that smile

Which ever one I do this year, I'll definitely do the other one next year. I've always wanted to drive Donington so as it's open again I was ready to book it, but then talking to others and watching video's has really turned me round to Cadwell Park so hence scratchchin

For that car, I'd go for Cadwell. In fact I'd swap the Snett for another Cadwell or an Oulton if you can as well!

You won't go wrong with either really, both wonderful circuits. However, given that you seem relatively early in your TD career I'd probably favour Donington.

cadwell - unless it's teeming with rain and if you enjoy slip sliding under the trees. the drive there is a good un too, unless it's foggy

Either way, I use Moris for trackday insurance, never had to make a claim (thankfully), but they are surprisingly cheap and well worth considering, esp at Cadwell... > http://www.moris.co.uk/pages/trackdaypolicy.htm

£73 for a day at Donnington for me and my Honda S2000. Pretty impressed with that. At that sort of price, cant not get it for that price, certainly would take the nerves out of my first trackday. (Im aiming for Donnington sometime in december or the new year)

/sorry for the Hijack - as you were! biggrin

Go for Cadwell - its a fantastic track - just take your time to work out the lines. Beware around hall bends and the hairpin as its under the trees and can get quite slippery. I track day a 1600 cc Honda civic which is a nimble car like the saxo and found it to be just as quick around cadwell as some much bigger powerful machinery.
