I'm doing a track day next Saturday and given the current weather I'm expecting it to be pretty cold when I'm not on track.

I've got a garage booked so I was thinking about picking up a little heater to help take the chill off, but is this allowed and what do you lot do?

Open bonet and stand by your engine! while your in there check the oil and water.
Woolly hat is good though for when you take your Lid off.

Seb,

Not sure if heaters are allowed, but i think one would be a waste of time to be honest in one of those garages.

As has been said the car should be the warmest place after a session. Wear a wooley hat when not wearing your lid.

I have not heard from you so i am assuming no news is good news and the car is ok now.

if you're in a garage, just close one of the shutters off depending on wind direction...or both shutters if you're really that cold.....or just stay at home just in case its too cold!!!!!!!!!

OK, sounds like it's not worth worrying about then smile

I'm not really worried about cold weather in general, but I'm sharing the day with a friend and didn't really want to sit there freezing my bks off whilst he's out on track.

Just a coat and hat it is then and if that doesn't work there's always the cafe.

Always amazes me how some people turn up for a freezing airfield day not equiped.
I have seen guys stand around in little more then T shirts for a half hour briefing on the track side in Febuary claiming they are f*cking cold.
Always raises a smile!
