Day insurance companies dont tend to cover modified cars, so is there anyone out there that will do a daily policy so that a track car (cage, buckets, suspension, brake modifications, etc) could be driven to & from a track.

Not interested in insuring it once its there, but dont have access to a trailor.

Depends what the car is, but for normal annual policies I've never had issues having any of my various caged & modded track cars insured, just don't use the mainstream co's, as with a cage & more power & suspension & brakes etc etc you generally won't be quoted happy smile

Limited mileage specialist insurers is what you need.

I've got my Kit Car and most likely the Turbo (renewal due) with Competition Car Insurance. It's not just that 5 track days are included but they've also beaten all my other quotes. If they do bikes I'll be giving them a call when my bike is due too.

Competition do not do it for the road. They insure when the car is at the track but not to drive it there.

I cannot find a single company that will do what the OP is asking.

Neither can i.

Dayinsure will happily do it at the moment - standard 182 Trophy btw.

But after its winter build up, it'll be rather different, at which point the only way i can really insure it (by the looks of things), is with an annual policy, which as my no-claims are used elsewhere, means an extra premium of £850 with Admiral multicar.

Seems ill just have to bite the bullet.

Might use it for my daily 90 mile commute, will cost me less in fuel than the 330 does lol

Only just seen your reply. Comp Car Insurance gave me a hefty discount on my 0 NCB car on the basis of my 10 years NCB which was being used on my other car with another insurer.

I don't know what minerva means by saying CCI don't insure for the road. Both my cars will be insured by them and both of them are definately being driven on the road. Yes, it will be an annual policy but I get both my cars covered (the kit and the turbo) for under a grand fully comp and they give me 5 track days for each car although I doubt I'll use it on the turbo.

?

I'll give them another call. I have spoken to them twice and was told by two separate telephonists that they would not insure a caged M3 for me to drive to the track. Maybe they thought I meant daily insurance? Here's hoping...

Strange. I thought they would just be for track cars too initially but after talking to them (Lisa dealt with my questions) they said they could insure my road registered cars on an annual policy and include the 5 track days.

Great price, i've just got my quotes through from them & whilst they're a fair bit higher than yours (im guessing your old wink) im happy.

Certainly better than the £800-£1200 everyone else wanted lol.
