Cadwell Nov 21st, wet!

I know some PHers were at Cadwell yesterday but unfortunately I didn't get to chat to many people, mainly because I was sheltering from the rain!

I was there in the blue Eunos Roadster (MX5) with my mate in the silver Golf GTI. It was my first time at Cadwell and although the conditions made it rather intimidating to start off with it was satisfying to feel like I was getting on top of it after a few sessions. A wet track with so little run off in places certainly make for an absorbing experience.

Glad that everyone managed to avoid any mishaps, apart from a couple of harmless spins I saw at Hall Bends. Thought it was a bit strange that they crammed so many cars into the first session but it worked to my advantage as I was in the 3rd session so I'm not moaning; most of the time I was driving around on my own without other cars to worry about passing/ being passed.

Will definitely have to go back for a go in the dry!

Hi there, I was there too in the Smart/Lotus session. I'll look and see if I have any pics of you when I get home. The Smart/Lotus session was a "club" event and was packed, the MG OC was the other session. The guy who organised our session is an Elise owner and an ex-Smart owner and did a great job rallying us all to go. We had 11 Smart Roadsters there which is unheard of.

The conditions played to the Smarts advantage - having EBS, ABS and standard road tyres meant a few of us claimed some Lotus scalps Can't blame people for being cautious though, the conditions were horrific at times and I saw one Elise spin and hit an earth bank after sliding over grass for 20m.

Nice pics, I especially like the one of the petrol station overun with your clubs. I got told off by the grumpy fella at that Total for driving in the wrong way as it runs the opposite direction to every other petrol station in the country

Was good to see so many Smarts, as you say some of them were keeping the Elises honest

I was there earlier in the year on an open pitlane day. Awesome place, and I'd always recommend and open pit lane over a sessioned day personally.
