A friends husband has just bought a newish 911 Carrera 4 (I think) and I suggested a trackday with one on one instruction as a present for him. Can anyone personally recommend an instructor who has experience of 911s and would fit the bill? Oh and is fairly local to the south east as the trackday would probably be around this area.

Mike Wilds is your man - a true Gent, a 911 owner and racer for many years and he is in the South East too smile

I would say for your first porsche your instructor doesn't need to be "911 experienced" - in my experience all instructors can handle the basics, so ask at your local circuit for some time - specialist instruction is only really required once you're already going a decent pace.
