We are due to do a trackday on the 18th and wondered if anyone has been to Bedford since the beginning of December?

Club MSV still seem to be taking bookings and I cant find any evidence of cancelled events but thought i'd ask you guys if anyone has attended recently and if worthwhile due to weather?

Its only a novice day to help my mate learn racing lines/track craft better before our next Ring trip but would be good fun before xmas.

Thanks, Stu

I was there on Monday. It was changed to the SW layout to avoid the worst of the ice. A few bits around but they were offline or had cones out to avoid it.

Was there today on a Javlin track day, weather and track both fine and the full GT circuit, hope the weather holds for the 18th too.

It sadly has the original 998cc 42hp (when new) Mini City engine in it with head gasket failure. I just had to make up for the lack of power by never lifting! Its a friends car and was just helping him out with lines and fwd technique, whilst having the odd drive. It was a bit tedious down the straights, but I think I suprised a few people out there, as they were asking which engine conversion it had!!!

sounds like you guys had a good day. Was it a novice day or open pit lane day?

Open pitlane. No red flags, very few spins. Boring for the few marshalls, but another great Javelin day.

You won't have followed me for very long, I was the novice in our driving partnership.

I think the only car that didn't pass me was that V12 Jag....

weather forecast for the 18th seems quite snowy, so I doubt the track day will go ahead? If it does it'll be more a drifting sessionrotate

Well we had a bit of a result at the weekend.

After several phone calls to MSV expressing concern over the weather they assured us it was going ahead Saturday. Problem was that my car developed a fault and wouldnt downshift from 4th to 3rd gear. Also, we ran a noise test (with pro equipment) and it came up right on the limit of 101db static but waaay over 100 db driveby.

With these 3 things in mind we decided not to make the trip. Weather was icey and with the car issues it didnt seem worth it.

We were told i'd receive an email or call if the session was cancelled but received no word so assumed we'd lost our ££

Then on Monday I got 2 emails saying sorry that they cancelled it on the day and i'd recieved a credit to use at another event.

Bloody glad we didnt make the 90 minute treck down there but glad we got a credit. Once the car is sorted and the weather is better I can feel Cadwell calling as they dont have a drive by sound limit.
