Hi all. As said in prev post we are looking into running our own events. As most of you will know the last couple of years RMA have ran the days. We have now started the RAF Odhiam Car Club and were basically starting from sratch. To that end we need to test ourselves first. We are going to run a 1/4 mile day first, this will be open to all station personnel.
The main reason for this event is to try and get the big bosses back on side. The last couple of trackdays caused a lot of damage to the perimeter tracks and also to the airfield furniture. Our previous station cmdr was a massive car fan and it was his idea to run the trackdays. Our new station cmdr is a motorbike fan and the motorbikes have had trackdays here for years with no damage to the airfiled. We realy have to prove ourselves before we can reopen to the public.
Hopefully the first day next year will go smoothly and then we can plan for bigger events. We are building a website and hopefully that will be up and running early next year. For now we have a page on facebook, search for Odiham car club.
The officer in charge of the club has brought together a small team to try and make this work, unfortunately being a fully committed station to overseas activities it is hard to organise anything with guys constantly away.
On behalf of the club I hope you guys will bear with us as we start a fresh! We will keep you all updated as things progress.
Cheers
