Is the 'Ring open during the German GP weekend?

Guys,
Quick one - a few of us are thinking about going to the German GP at the Nurburgring next year (22-24 July), is the nordschleife likely to be open over GP weekend??

Someone on Northloop asked them this very question and the answer was 'According to the information we were given, the track is definitely not going to be open during the Formula 1 race next year.'

In recent years the track has been taken over by RMA for that weekend for its private trackdays, but I read somewhere, possibly in this forum, that that may no longer be the case for the future. That's not to say that someone else won't hire the track for themselves that weekend though.

By 'open' does the OP mean 'in use' or 'available for pay and play'? The former almost certainly YES, the latter almost definitely NO.

As in open to the public for pay & play - seems a bit of a waste of a weekend if I can't have a blast and can't really afford to go twice next year.

Will depend if the 'ring is open to the public on the following days, also might be stretching my pass out for the weekend by having to extend it past the monday!
