Have you been to Keevil before?

I only ever go when I need to get rid of a set of tyres. Epic grip, but wears tyres badly. First time I went I arrived with 4 Yoko A539s (yes, it was that long ago) with 5-6mm of tread. I left with front slicks (205 GTI) and rears with illegal corners.

organise track days here and are very decent people too.
Act like an idiot however and they stop you and the car which means fools do not last.

hi. Yes been before, as it's the closest track to me. But i've been without a toy for a while due to getting work done on the house. So i've been looking round for something cheap. Off to collect my 205GTi6 now

Spoke to Ed at the Autosport show.

Keevil has had the tarmac relaid and it's no longer suitable for cars to run on it. They'll rip up the surface.

Thinks it'll be a year or 2 before they can use it again.

Sad but good I expect. Once the new tarmac's been down for a while it'll probably be way better than the coarse, abrasive stuff that was there previously.

Interesting, as far as I know rallying is still allowed there this year.

Are you sure that isn't colerne? I sent an email to MSE a few weeks ago, and they told me that the keevil dates would be up soon. They were negotiating the dates with the MOD which takes a long time, and will post them then. No mention of a new surface.

motorsports events ltd have just emailed me back saying they will be doing one a month there. And they're just waiting to confirm dates again!

While its the winter we need mistakes like that Ben- then we can hit reply and it makes it more exciting.

Its either that or browsing the classifieds, looking at cars we can't afford. Worse still, filling out tax returns.
