Is that for new policies or for current ones as well ? I guess they would have to inform current customers of a change in their cover ?

Don't know, though I've been insured with Mannings for over 10 years and renewal was last month, it's lucky I asked em about 3rd party TF cover because they didn't tell me at the time of renewal.

Are they still covering Nurburgring private track days organised by ATDO members?

If they're anything like my insurer, they will inform all customers by way of modifying a line in the policy documents, or even their online version with a note hidden somewhere to check.

I only found out when I called (as per the previous year's instruction) to inform my insurer (not Manning) that I was doing another trackday - only to be told that they'd stopped including track day cover.

When I complained, I was told that it was in the revised policy document I'd been sent with my new insurance certificate - although there was no mention of this significant change anywhere else and took me a while to find the differences between the old & new policies.

In the end I cancelled it for a pro-rata refund and went elsewhere, as the only reason I went with these was because they were only about 10% more expensive but included track day cover (albeit with an increased £1000 excess).

You could point out their FAQs still imply it is covered and say you were relying on that?

until you're told by the insurer that the policy terms have changed then you may rely on the terms at the policy inception/renewal.

i have a porsche policy with manning and i called my broker today for clarification. i'm told that underwriter Allianz is pulling out of the TF and trackday market. so, anyone who renews with manning or takes out a new policy will not be covered for TF; but their new underwriter is prepared to cover ATDO member trackdays.

by a happy coincidence, provisional dates for Destination Nurburgring trackdays were announced only yesterday:

Wednesday April 20th 8am to 5pm
Thursday April 21st 8am to 2pm
Monday July 18th 8am - 5pm
Tuesday July 19th 8am to 5pm

So Mannings have a new underwriter that will protect Porsche and TVR club policy holders on ATDO trackdays, but not 3rd party on TF days at the ring?

Allianz have bailed?

the ridiculous situation is that if you bought insurance with Allianz.de for your car registered in Germany then you'd have comprehensive cover in TF.

Yes, but I believe that is only because, wrt German insurance, Allianz do not have a choice in the matter. If they did, I suspect that they'd be withdrawing German cover as well.

I have just received my renewal documents from Mannings with insured with Allianz there is no mention of removal of cover for track days or any restriction on the ring

As there is no mention of it in my document it must be covered should it not?
