Club MSV Track day, Bedford
Discussion
First time at Bedford for me today, and completely different contrast from last weekend at Snetterton.
Had problems with the car so didn't arrive until lunchtime, but the staff were all friendly and chatty, the standards of driving were good considering it was wet most of the day, and there was plenty of time and space on-track (although my car only lasted about 10 laps).
Club MSV never fail to put on a good track day, in my opinion. And for a first-timer at Bedford, I was so impressed to see how much they appear to value their customers, with the catering available and the two rooms either side of the pit garages offering people the chance to keep warm, sit down, socialise and help themselves to complimentary hot/cold drinks. And thanks to Steve for taking me round on a couple of sighting laps beforehand!
Bedford might not be the most exciting circuit in the world, by it's ideal for track days and MSV do a fine job with it.
And I think in future, I'm much more inclined to stick with MSV for track days. Thanks, guys, for a really enjoyable day!

+ 1 for this. I was there today- Taster session, and really couldn't fault the staff. Really helpful and clearly there to make your day as fun as it can be. Certainly would go again. Shame the same couldn't be said about the weather though!Club MSV never fail to put on a good track day, in my opinion. Really enjoyed the day - was wet until about 3pm when I had to leave - but I enjoyed the wet more than I ever have before.
Well organised, loads of track time - nice.
An interesting point re. the briefing ... we got all the usual stuff about flags and safety - yeah fine. Also he made a point of saying they they were there to help, and to ensure that we had a good time, and that we should ask for anything we needed and they would try and oblige. Much nicer that the usual pre-fun b
king that most feel obliged to do.
Anyone remember the WheelTorque Nurburgring briefings - it was like spending a morning at borstal!

I really enjoyed Saturday too, it was my second time at Bedford but my first track day in the rain.
I agree that MSV definitely did a great job, they do certainly seem to value us as customers and the breifing certainly reflected this.
The weather made it quite interesting in the morning and I had huge fun after 4pm when the track was dried out and only seemed to have about 5 cars on it!
Also - does anyone know how the 550 Maranello made it so far onto the grass after the back straight, did he forget to brake?!

That wasn't the only time he was off track - he was also off at the bottom hairpin
Nice to see him giving it some.
I did manage a couple of small offs myself

I was there in the old burgandy 911 - how did you find the conditions?! It was pretty hairy in mine, but great fun anyway. Good to see another 'classic' 911 owner giving it full beans!!

Ah - yes - was that the 3.2 targa - understeered a tad I would guess?I was there in the old burgandy 911 - how did you find the conditions?! It was pretty hairy in mine, but great fun anyway. Good to see another 'classic' 911 owner giving it full beans!!
The 964RS was majestic - the combination of the Toyo R888's and the KW suspension in those really wet conditions meant good grip under braking only modest understeer and on-demand oversteer. There were some very slippy corners. Fantastic.
I have a load of video but haven't had a chance to go through it yet.
I was out there today - great great sunny day
On the second picture you can see the coach pointing out to me the apex and until when to hold the inside of the turn
Amazing how much these guys can actually push you further than you think the car can go - definitely worth the £25 per session!
