There are two file for each session. One will be called ****.vbo and is the telemetry file (**** will be the file name in reverse date format and the session number) and ****.avi which is the video file made by the vbox.
The AVI file is a windows media file that can be played without the VBox software and I think windows media player or toast can burn it to DVD

I found the two files with differant ".xxx" in the media folder... the .AVI one will only play as sound with no visuals
yet it plays ok when I click on the "silverstone drive 1" link ..BUT it opens it in Explorer and won't let my do anything with it other than watch it

Are you trying to play the avi file with an apple?
you need flip4mac to let quicktime play avi files.
I'm trying to open it on my Vista laptop and also tried it on my old XP pc you need flip4mac to let quicktime play avi files.
tried opening it with 4 or 5 differant programs that I've played .AVI files with before but to no avail

thanks anyway

I'm considering buying one of these.
I've seen some data loggers can give you a power (BHP) read out - does anyone know if this read-out is accurate?
They'll give you a rough idea if you use them properly, or can be wildly inaccurate if you dont. I've seen some data loggers can give you a power (BHP) read out - does anyone know if this read-out is accurate?
You need to know total weight of the car (including you and fuel), frontal cross sectional area and drag coefficient.
If the run isn't on the flat and in windless conditions then you need to do runs in both directions and average the results.
As you can see there is lots of scope for error.
