Jobs that involve working away, extra pay?

In my line (consultancy), it would be part and parcel of the role so already factored into the salary. Expenses would be claimed / paid.

I'm guessing this is for an IT job?

I dont get paid extra for working away, unless it involves working outside of my normal hours (evenings/weekends), where I'm paid overtime.

You'll get your hotel fee's/parking/meals paid for etc, but you'll not be paid extra if that makes sense.

+1 same here.

For example, worked in the US/Canada recently for a week. I didn't spend a single penny of my own money from the moment I left the house until I got back. Everything was paid for, so when you look at it that way - I am better off as I saved on fuel, food etc for a week.

As others have said most jobs I know of that require occasional working away from home have that factored in the base.

The fringe benefits usually more than out weigh, in many cases, any extra take home anyway - unless your company is like one I know who seem to think that £15 a day is a generous subsistence level for London...
