Qualification to broaden employability?

Since leaving school I’ve worked in the Nuclear Industry for some 10 years. In many ways it’s been very kind to me in putting me through a degree and masters at the companies expense.

My qualifications are quite specific/niche (Nuclear engineering) and in a couple of years I’d like to consider working abroad for a change of scenery. To that end I’ve been thinking of doing a broader degree probably through OU as I can do some credit transfers so it shouldn’t take as starting from scratch. Then again allot of people I work with come from a variety of backgrounds (Mech, Chemistry, Mineral engineers and so on). And adapt to nuclear, it’s hard getting to hear experiences of those who’ve went the other way.

I addition to my qualifications my experience includes supervisory roles and project management, managing budget, resources etc.

I've noticed that there are quite alot of engineers on PH so would be interested in some opinions.

Chartered Manager (CMI) and Chartered Director (IoD) may fit. They will consolidate your management and leadership skills gained so far in to general marketable qualifications. Good luck!
