Stabbed in the back yet again FFS

I Jacked my job in yesterday due to being stabbed in the back by a guy I hardly know. He told management I was lazy etc etc. Totally untrue, but the damage was done.I did'nt have to go, but continiuing on there just was not an option for me. I lasted 2 hours and ended up leaving as it pi@@ed me off so much. As a long term sub-contractor (3 years+), I would like to think that my services were more highly appreciated, but not so.
This is now the 3rd time in the last 8 years I have been royally sh@t upon. In fact the 2 other times were much much worse.
The worst thing of all is that I cannot understand why people do these things?
All sorts of things go through your mind trying to reason/understand why but you just cannot make sense of it.
Fortunatly I have a job interview in the morning which is looking very promising.
Makes it very hard to trust anybody.

I have to say I don't quite understand this.If you are not lazy then you can easily prove it. And that then gets the other person on record as a possible trouble maker, and someone who could land them in a Tribunal.............
This happens all the time. Sounds like you are not on side with the right people. Unfortunately you need to be up on office politics these days and have a good relationship with the right people. This will prevent d
heads like the guy you mentioned playin these sorts of games. If you were friends with the right people this would have bounced back on said dhead.
It's a shame but being good at your job is not the most important thing past a certain level. It's how good people think you are.

I know, it does sound rather rash. I suppose it's a culmination of things really, 4 straight pay cuts in a row, and the management seem hell bent on giving all their employees a hard time, let alone the way they treat subcontractors.I don't understand.
My gripe/question is that why do these cocktards behave in this way.
It's ironic that I work in a nuclear enviroment where safety and aptitude are paramount.
To be fair the boss was very understanding and maybe a little supportive of me.
The guy in question is not even very popular to say the least, and sadly he uses his 'colour' as a lever.
Like I said I didn't have to leave, but I'm not the kind of person to put up with this sh@t.

OP - you have my sympathies. I had issues with a Control Freak who seemed to want to make my life miserable, or at least, not too happy - one can only guess it's a power thing and they get some sort of kick out of it. The real losers are the Company who end up losing good staff at the expense of politicians.

Thank's Fido. Well who would of thought! All turned out for the best anyway, Job interview was sucessfull this morning! more £, more hours (as requested, I know I'm mad), and promotion ! Result Maybe there is a godrich1231 said:
I think OP you need to learn to be a little less sensitive if you are a contractor or sub contractor of any sort. Politics in the office is the way of the world, no matter how much you pretend it isnt.
I agree with this. I know a lot of colleagues say "I don't play/like office politics" It's okay not to play them directly, but you have to be aware of them to get on in life, even if you ignore them.
